Bedside Vigil-No One Dies Alone

Open Opportunity

About

Are you interested in enriching the lives of those affected by terminal illness as well as supporting their loved ones? Heartland's Vigil Volunteers spend time with our hospice patients during their final hours that live within their community, wherever the patient calls home. Our patients can live in a nursing home, assisted living, or in their own home. While our office is in Fort Wayne, we have patients all over Northeast Indiana who would benefit from a vigil volunteer during their final time. Each volunteer's schedule is up to their availability. One of our service essentials at Heartland Hospice is that no one dies alone. Your time and support can help us fulfill this need.

Our volunteers are offered free training and will receive a TB test prior to their initial visit. Training schedule is based upon each volunteer's availability and is flexible.
