About
Department of Human Development: Boredom and the Brain
We are looking for 18- to 25-year-olds to participate in a study on how they feel about their free time and experience boredom.
Participation involves visiting WSU's Childhood Cognition Lab housed in the Department of Human Development for 1-1.5 hours at a convenient time. Participants will earn extra credit as determined by your instructor.
During the study, people are asked to fill out questionnaires and perform a decision-making task, such as judging whether two lines will cross paths. During these tasks we will be recording people's brain waves using electroencephalography (EEG).
The goal of the study is to understand more about how people experience boredom and its link to the brain.
To schedule an appointment, please register for an available time and report to Wilson-Short room 22 at the time of your appointment. For more information, contact us at child.cognition.lab@wsu.edu
This research study has been reviewed and approved for human subject participation by WSU Institutional Review Board (IRB # 17106)
If you would like to do the alternative assignment rather than participate in this lab study, please contact us at child.cognition.lab@wsu.edu
