Life Skills- Career Development Conference (Grades 9-10)

Thursday, January 16th, 2020 from 8:00am to 2:00pm

About

Birmingham Education Foundation is seeking professional volunteers to assist with career development workshops including budgeting and basic financial literacy,  demonstrations for car safety, cooking skills, CPR and emergency medical protocols, as well as navigating safe spaces. These activities will help prepare local area 9th and 10th graders for the realities of life leading up to and after high school graduation.

Selected professionals will act in the roles of career mentors, shop keepers, bankers, and workshop facilitators. With an expected attendance of approximately 500 students, we are seeking between 50-70 volunteers to be assigned distinctive roles throughout the day.
We hope you can join us, and look forward to working with you to make this a momentous event for both students and community partners alike.

Please join us on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 10:30a for a Zoom Conference Call to help prepare volunteers for conference day!
