Compost Cultivation Volunteer Day

Saturday, November 9th, 2019 from 9:00am to 11:00am (CT)

About

Date: Saturday, November 9, 2019

Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Volunteer Coordinator: Marie Dennan, (901-361-5852)

What to Bring: Wear clothes you feel comfortable working outside in, and wear water proof boots or shoes you don't mind getting dirty and wet. Please bring water, and if you have gloves do so, but we always have some on hand as well!

Volunteer Activities Might Include:
1) Adding compost collection to compost piles
2) Emptying bags of leaves onto leaf pile
3) Clearing out overgrown areas at site
4) Cleaning and preparing small compost buckets
5) Screening finished compost and putting into bags for subscription members and customers

Volunteer Site Address:
The site is located at the intersection of Lamar and Willett. There is a Valero gas station across the street at 1559 Lamar Ave., which will get you to that intersection! The site is located inside the gated lot on the north east corner of that intersection. There is a tan gate with a zombie mural painted on the building just to the right of the entrance. Volunteers can drive through the open gate, and go straight back. You will see Compost Fairy people when they get back there.

Thank you for volunteering with The Compost Fairy, and being a part of waste reduction by creating organic material to feed the earth!
