Madison is addressing barriers and stigma that female addicts face through establishing an educational program for medical professionals in the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area. This educational program will address providers’ personal opinions about female addicts who are mothers or expectant mothers as well as address common misconceptions surrounding addiction and pregnancy.
