Virtual Read Aloud Orientation

Thursday, April 16th to Monday, May 25th, 2020

About

The COVID-19 Crisis has been devastating for the local, national and global communities.  It has been especially difficult for undeserved children and their families.  We have received requests from the Boys and Girls Club of Baton Rouge and the VIPS Reading program to create enrichment Read Aloud Videos for children in K-2nd grade.  This is a great virtual community service opportunity for FranU students.  We have scheduled several orientation sessions for FranU students who are interested in creating the videos.  To join the Virtual Read Aloud Orientation Session, click on the Zoom link below:

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you or someone in your household traveled to a country on the CDC’s Level 3 watch list in the last 30 days? At this time, these include China, Iran, Italy and South Korea. These may change. See the CDC’s guidelines for the most up-to-date list.

  2. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  3. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a fever, cough or shortness of breath. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
