Friends of Nevada Wilderness

About

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Friends of Nevada Wilderness. Because wilderness areas cannot protect themselves, Friends of Nevada Wilderness works with volunteers on the ground to help monitor and restore these special wild places. Our restoration and monitoring trips combine exploration, camaraderie and rewarding work in Nevada's beautiful backcountry. Explore Nevada's wild places while you work to replant after fires, remove invasive plants, and more! Together we can keep our public lands and wilderness areas safe and clean. We would love to see you at our next stewardship project.

Friends of Nevada Wilderness' volunteer projects take place away from the city in places like Mt. Charleston, Gold Butte National Monument, Black Rock Desert or Mt. Rose Wilderness. For single day projects, volunteers typically have to provide their own transportation to the trailheads. For overnight projects, we offer a limited number of rides in our vehicles and encourage people to provide their own transportation if they can.

Friends of Nevada Wilderness is dedicated to preserving all qualified Nevada public lands as wilderness, protecting all present and potential wilderness from ongoing threats, informing the public about the values of and need for wilderness, and restoring and improving the management of wild lands.
