Center for Policy Studies

About

The College of Public Policy provides the perfect environment for the PSC because it is replete with active social science scholars who are pursuing research agendas addressing society's most challenging struggles. We have experts confronting issues like poverty, civic engagement, bullying, mentoring, policing, nonprofit leadership, courts, health disparities, migration and immigration, domestic violence and many more.

The PSC will serve society by providing research, training and technical assistance to groups and individuals that wish to further the goals of the College of Public Policy. We will accomplish this by; 1) serving as a forum for civic engagement and policy dialogue; 2) facilitating collaborative research and grant activity across the university and within the region; 3) disseminating knowledge through extended education, policy briefs, editorials, and media coverage; informing policy decision-making through evidence-based research and dialogue.

Located in the College of Public Policy, the Policy Studies Center is an interdisciplinary center that focuses on service, policy issues, and applied research in the areas of demography, criminal justice, public administration, and social work.

The Center's mission is to be a center of excellence through interdisciplinary applied research, training, and outreach in areas of critical importance for the local and global communities that we serve.

The Policy Studies Center is dedicated to providing service and outreach, fostering community, cultivating an environment of integrity, excellence, inclusiveness, respect, collaboration, innovation, and transparency, and educating and training leaders.
