I had the honor of participating in my first Telebrigade with GMDB this past January of 2021. It was an enlightening experience that taught me about the healthcare system in Honduras and how patients go about receiving medical and dental care. Although doing the brigade virtually was not what I had signed up for initially, the doctors and administrators who worked with GMDB made the week engaging and memorable. Thank you GMDB!
I took out Oliver and played fetch with him at FAS! He is a pit mix and he LOVED the tennis balls! He also liked laying down in the mud when he was bringing the ball back. A family came to visit him as I was leaving, I hope it went well - he's such a sweet boy!
I really enjoyed learning about these nonprofit organizations and what they do to help women in domestic or sexual abuse situations and refugees. I would love to volunteer after learning more on how I can help! I really enjoyed making goodie bags for the kids in the women’s shelter as well. :)
I did Hounds on the Town today and took Athena out to walk on the greenway for a bit! She walked well on a leash and we both really enjoyed the warm weather today!
I took Bowser out for Hounds on the Town on the greenway last week and we had a great time! He was so sweet and was very easy to handle when it came to people passing by whether with other dogs or on a bike, he was not difficult at all to keep on track!
I had a great time volunteering at this event! All of the little girls were adorable and dressed up as their favorite princesses, it was PRECIOUS! I worked the craft table and basically just would cut string for the girls to make bracelets and hand them out, I also helped pass out coloring pages. I loved this event and getting to talk to all the cute little princesses!
I went to the Animal shelter and helped fold laundry, and walked a couple of dogs. I walked Frank and Bobby and they are both well trained, older dogs who were so sweet! I loved spending time there today.
I left early for Thanksgiving break, so I was able to volunteer in the child's center of my home church, Church of the Resurrection. I was in the "firefly" room with the 1-2 year olds. We had 6 boys come in; Lawson, Harrison, Jett, Rhyder, Elliot, and Sam. Rhyder had a really tough time and cried the most but liked being held. I also held Jett quite a bit because he was scared of the bubbles we would blow in the room, ironically, to cheer the other little guys up! I had a great time with these little ones and am excited to serve again next weekend!
