Throughout the semester I have volunteered at my local church as a college intern, specifically an hour every Sunday morning during our college adult bible fellowship hour serving in various ways. Leading discussions, helping clean, greeting newcomers, and making coffee, to name a few. Helping to mold other’s consciences to sustainable living because we take the creation mandate seriously and want to steward the earth well, because God cares for the earth.

I volunteered with my local church to help freshman move in to their dorms. I helped freshman move into Pomfret and Adohi dorms, it involved many trips back in forth from cars hauling clothing, electronics and other personal items. It was a great way to serve incoming freshman and their families from the stress of move in day, and I met many incoming students!
I got to volunteer again at Beautiful Lives! I mainly served in the front of the store by greeting people and helping rearrange some of the clothing in the front.
I always enjoy getting to volunteer at Beautiful Lives. I walked in on a busy Saturday and helped wherever they needed me. I greeted people in the front, put outfits together, and placed clothes back on the floor from being in the dressing rooms.
I had only been to Beautiful Lives one other time before I volunteered. The women I met were very kind and said that I could volunteer any time, so a week later I came to do just that. They were very grateful for me volunteering and trained me in how to correctly steam and tag the clothing. I also helped with putting clothes out on the floor of the store. It was rewarding to be partnering with a nonprofit that supports organizations such as IJM, Young Lives, Go Near, and Ladies of Grace.
