Left an hour early, was fun volunteering in an area i pass by so often. Didn't know there was a skate park and gym.

Volunteered for the Longhorn Lights Out event on campus. Helped conserve energy around campus and got free food :)
Volunteered at the Texas vs. OU volleyball game setting up and handing out coupons and flyers to fans.
While the rest of UT was participating in round up, I choose to volunteer which i found to be a very rewarding experience as we got to directly impact the community. Again for me, the only negative was not being closer to UT because I don't have a car, but that's not the fault of the organizers, just a personal problem of finding transportation.
Location was a little far from UT, if you don't have a car make sure you carpool/find a ride like I did. It was overall a very pleasant experience, people were friendly and the work of grouping/sorting cards and the like was enjoyable
packed up items back into bins and helped tear down the setup
sorted, folded, organized clothes and restocked where necessary
Just what I needed after my midterm. Had fun de-stressing and getting my hands dirty.
Did this event again this year. Was great to learn about and be proactive towards energy conservation!
Served the morning of Halloween, was worried about rain but thankfully nothing came of it. Aside from being a little wet, no complaints! I volunteered with them a couple of times last year as well, and I love how each time I'm doing something a little different, from mulching, to trimming, to weeding. Always a rewarding experience!
